Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where to buy crokinole boards in Canada?
A. We obviously recommend buying Crokinole Boards from CrokinoleBoards.com (www.crokinoleboards.com) or Crokinole Canada (www.crokinole.ca / www.crokinole.com) as we have our own line of Crokinole Canada Boards and also carry Muzzies Crokinole Boards, Tracey Tournament Boards, Eddycrest Boards, Lucrest Woodworks Boards, and Jim Stamos Boards. We always have boards in stock and therefore can offer you with a wide range of boards that ship out quickly (3 to 5 business days anywhere in the USA and 2-5 business days in Canada). You can also purchase boards from our warehouse retail outlet at 5 Industrial Road, St.Marys, Ontario, Canada. Please text or call 519-276-8030 ahead before visiting so we can assist you with your transaction.

Q. What is the Crokinole board game?
A. Put simply, it is a round, wooden board game which is like curling but minus the long track the curlers use to throw their stones. Instead, one flicks the “stones” or “discs” with their forefinger towards the innermost hole, called the 20s hole. The object of the game is to score as many 20s as possible while ensuring that your opponents discs are knocked off the board into the ditch. Whoever ends up with the most discs on the board and the most 20s will win. The game was invented in Perth County, Ontario.

Q. Why are Crokinole boards so expensive?
A. There are various factors that go into a Crokinole board. The biggest is probably the time it takes to make a board. From getting the top playing surface cut, to having the lines screen printed on by a printer, and owning expensive pieces of equipment like a CNC router - this all adds to the manufacturers cost. Also the rising cost of MDF / wood is a factor. Then you have the costs of distribution - packaging the board in such a way as to protect it and shipping it out quickly and in a large box with much weight. These kinds of factors all add to the overall cost of a Crokinole Board. A good, tournament Crokinole Board will often cost somewhere around $300 - $400 CAD dollars. In US Dollars, that is $225 - $300 USD.

Q. Crokinole boards for sale to the UK, Australia, and beyond?
A. Yes, in fact we do ship to the UK often and to Australia quite a bit. The UK has fairly reasonable shipping rates considering the distance it travels. Australia on the other hand does not have a good shipping rate when sending a crokinole board from Canada. The shipping alone can cost as much or more than the board!!

Q. Willard Boards, Hillinski Boards?
A. We supply Tracey Boards which are a successor to the Willard Boards. We do not carry Hillinski Boards.

Q. Crokinole board videos?
A. Check out our YouTube channel!

Q. Crokinole Boards from Lee Valley?
A. We sell a walnut rail board as well which has the same dimensions as a Lee Valley board. It looks almost identical but our board is a little better in that it has steel posts with a latex covering whereas theirs would have hard plastic posts. Here is a link to our board.

Q. Crokinole Boards from Home Hardware?
A. We don’t recommend getting a Kroeger crokinole board from Home Hardware because the posts in the middle fall out after a couple of uses. Instead, we’d recommend getting our Gold Standard board which is made of real Canadian ash and has well anchored posts! Here is a link to the Gold Standard board set.

Q. Crokinole board wax?
A. We have a lot of different options when it comes to Crokinole Board Wax, or Crokinole Powder. I recommend the fast speed 500 gram Crokinole Wax by Capo Industries. You can get it here.

Q. Do you sell Tournament Crokinole Boards?
A. Yes, we sell a wide range of Tournament Spec boards. This includes The Maple Marvel, The Red Maple, The Grey Maple, The Crokinole Canada Board, The Royal Red, The Tracey Tournament Board in Red, Black, Grey Rock, The World Champion, The Dark Knight, The Victor’s Crown.

Q. Do you sell Crokinole Board Game pieces?
A. Yes, we sell a variety of Crokinole pieces - including a 78 disc party pack, a 52 disc party pack, sets of 26, sets of 13, and individual pieces. You can order them all here.

Q. Where can I get a free copy of the rules?
A. You can get the rules and scorecards here.

Q. Where can I get a carrying case for my Crokinole Board?
